probably not. i'm too lazy to try and read everything i missed while i was in the hospital.
so. erm. lets see... i do not have MRSA, i have a gram-negative strand of staff. whatever that means. mostly it seems to mean that i need an antibiotic that cost $2300 for 2 weeks. but i am down to 4 stitches - even if i am taking 2 oxycodone every 2 hours. my doctor is fine with that, even if *I* am not. he wants me on dulodid (however its spelled).

miles: nope, not funny.
Kim: try now, why not? if the lateral turn over is that high, it sounds good!
'soka: whaaaaa??? wow. is this good?
Jen: beautiful tattoo!! absolutly gorgous. even if i can't spell

everyone... i have an old Marcon friend who called me out of the blue. (Her name is Hayley, and she got my number from Betty, who i didn't even know HAD my number. um, i digress) she has a friend of a friend who is getting married and wants to try a small LARP for his bachelor party. a one off, throw away sorta game for just him and his friends, less than a dozen players, they don't know WHAT but are leaning towards Star Wars and if someone wants to run a small one time LARP at the end of September for small compensation (i.e., dinner and possible the main rulebook, if the group decides on something that is not owned by the ST. this is mostly in the case of the Star Wars LARP; there are rules for it, but i don't know that anyone has them and the deal would be the bachelor party would supply the basic rule book and the ST gets to keep it)

so, if that made sense and anyone wants to try a new idea, or new rules set or universe or whatever, let me know. i will pass it to Hayley (and contact info if that's cool) and she can manage it from there. i can't walk yet :(

It hardly matters if you find it funny. I wasn't making a joke, I was only pointing out the existance of the term.

???

why would you point it out? i thought you were amused at the term.
were you decrying its existence?
and, by the way, why have you not called me? i was in the hospital for another 8 days. :( meanie.

I've had MRSA twice, nearly died the first time at a LARP con not knowing the lump I had would kill me. The difference between MRSA and Gram-negative staph is MRSA is resistant to most antibacterial agents. It requires mega-doses of sulpha based drugs to knock it out. Gram-negative staph is a lesser cousin that is commonly found everywhere (read as "on your skin") that can cause infections in wounds. While still not a good thing, it is far more easily treated. The gram-negative part reflects that it is a bacteria that shows up with a purple dye treatment versus gram-positive that reacts to red. Apparently most bacteria that are disease causing have a polysaccharide or something that absorbs the purple dye but not the red. The more benign ones usually only absorb the red dye.

The more you know...
lol

TAKE THE DILAUDID! Trust me, you WILL feel better. It's the haute-frickin-couture of painkillers.

And besides, if you get them, and don't want them, I'll take them off your hands. :P

In all seriousness, I'm glad to hear you're doing better. Stay away from them there gram-negatives, hon.
