i find myself in a VERY awkward place.
i have never been here before.
i don't like.

what is this terrible place, Liz?

it is the place known as "NO NEW BOOKS!!!"

'tis truly an evil place.

i have, quite literally, HUNDREDS of books, in this state ALONE. i have read EVERY book i have - and in most cases, also have read every book publish by every AUTHOR i have.

so, whilst impatiently waiting everyone to FUCKING PUBLISH already (cuz i have almost a month before the next book i KNOW i want is out), i have hit this wall of - nothing to read.

so i beg of thee, help! suggest!
in order of preference, for TYPE of reading...

Sci-fi/Alternate reality
Sci-fi/Alternate history
Sci-fi/space travel
Sci-fi/military
Sci-fi/psionics
Fantasy/historical
Fantasy/modern
Fantasy/funny and/or satire
Sci-fi/funny and/or satire
Sci-fi/Fantasy cross

thankyouverymuch *G*

ps - LJ's spell checker doesn't accept "psionics" as a word. which is funny, cuz its on Oxford ;)

I empathize completely. I got books four and five of the Merry series yesterday and finished them this morning. Have you ever read Piers Anthony's attempt at Fantasy Erotica from back in the seventies?

no, i haven't read it. actually, now that i remember what it is, not really sure that i WANT to read it. outside of a few exceptions, i don;t like erotica at all - and those exceptions are in cases where the erotica is a back-up to the story, not the other way around.

but thanx for the offer :)

A good combination

If you look carefully through some of Dean Koontz, his books have a tendency to include at least the first three of the type of reading you're looking for. Of course if you aren't already reading him.

I agree with Moonpanther... Odd Thomas series is great.. Door to December.

What authors do you usually read. Give me an idea then I will go through my books and tell you.
