I find it interesting that many of the people I've known or met throughout life who have actually read the Bible cover to cover do not consider themselves 'Christian' by today's standards.

by the standards of Jesus, i may be Christian. there was his whole "reformation" bit, that is supposed to supersede the old testament. the ONLY rules of being Christian are 1)love your neighbor 2)love God 3)believe that Jesus came to sacrafice himself for your sins.
i DO believe all those things. plus.

i first encountered Christianty when i was 9, i think. (i had encounter Mormonsism before that, so depending on the definition, i may have actually hit Christianity sooner.)
it always struck me as nice, a GOOD idea - but both too easy in practice and too easy to abuse.

where as my paganism with its large dose of Zorastianism allows me to be Christian AND pagan and keep God as i like Her: with tits. So i know she knows my pain ;)

I hadn't heard of it myself until very recently; there's a great quotes website that I pulled a few nifty ones from. There's stuff from Ghandi, Nietzche, Einstein, and a whole slew of others.
