advice?

i have my first actual BAD grade.
53%
now, its one of 2 tests, its worth only 35%, and there is ALSO a paper worth 29%. but i just canNOT seem to make it to class, and it is VERY heavy on in-class lecture info, and no one likes to share notes.

should i drop it? even better, CAN i realisticly drop it? i know that its not really my fault. i'm on a veritable ton of pain killers. but... i'v have only ever dropped one class, and that was more because my work schedule made it almost impossible than anything else.
i dunno... i don't even know HOW to drop a class. or what that does to my loans, if it drops me below 12 hours (which it will...)

argh!

That is not a good grade. Why can't you make it to class? Painkillers? Have you talked to the professor? Perhaps they can share some lecture notes with you, if no one else will (let the prof know about that, too) Maybe find a friend in class who can turn on a tape recorder?
Loans are veeeerrry tricky. Talk to a counselor, if talking to the prof doesn't work things out.
